Attention being paid to community policing: DPO

BAHAWALPUR   -  According to the details, Bahawalpur police registered 1,228 cases in the month of July 2021 out of which 25 cases have been dismissed on the ground of being false, whereas 49 new and old cases were traced out and stolen goods worth more than Rs 327,000 recovered, besides 26 motorcycles worth lakhs of rupees and illegal weapons were also recovered from them, says a Bahawalpur Police spokesman here on Sunday.  

While cracking down on illegal weapons, 104 cases were registered and 104 accused were arrested and 06 rifles, 04 repeaters, 84 pistols, 08 guns, 02 revolvers and 432 rounds of ammunition were recovered from their possession.  While, 144 cases have been registered and 147 accused involved in them have been arrested.  

While conducting operations against gamblers, 52 accused were arrested.  While implementing the National Action Plan (NAP), 22 accused of violating the Sound System Act, 07 accused of temporary accommodation, 32 accused of electricity theft and 19 accused of gas refilling have been arrested and produced before the court. 

 District-wide police arrested 229 convicts, including 16 A-category and 213 B-category offenders, and challaned them. 

I took strong action against anti-social elements, which is gradually reducing the crime rate, DPO Muhammad Faisal Kamran said that besides controlling crime, attention is also being paid to community policing.  

In order to bridge the gap between the people and the police, an atmosphere of trust can be restored, with the city police in full control of crime and identify criminal elements. 

Police take immediate action to eradicate such elements and will continue full-fledged operations using all resources.

Cantt Police raided the casino base and arrested several gamblers including money at stake and a case was registered.

According to details, Inspector General of Police Punjab Inam Ghani and Additional Inspector General of Police South Punjab Capt (retd) Zafar Iqbal Awan under the policy of eradication of social crimes, District Police Officer Muhammad Faisal Kamran ordered the police to conduct a grand operation against gamblers. 

They formed special teams, under which Cantt Police arrested 05 accused while conducting operation against gamblers. The arrested accused include Mohammad Rizwan, Ali Goheer, Mohammad Asghar, Riaz Hussain and Nazir Ahmed, from whom Rs 1,5,550 recovered.

He also recovered a card with the money at stake.  Cantt Police have registered a case against the gamblers.
