BAHAWALPUR: The police of Bahawalpur Monday claimed to have arrested two constables for committing different offences, besides suspending them and some other officials from service on various charges.
According to Bahawalpur District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Faisal Kamran, a constable, Tariq Ilyas, on his way to Yazman from Musa Colony trespassed on a cattle pen, resorted to aerial firing and quarreled with the pen’s owners when they tried to stop him.
The police swung into action on an emergency call received on helpline 15.
Baghdad-ul-Jadid police, on the orders of the DPO, registered an FIR (No 8/22) against the constable and arrested him.
Later, the DPO suspended the constable from service and served a show-cause notice on him in the lock-up, where he was lodged after his arrest.
